What is ADHD?

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects focus, organization, impulse control, and emotional regulation. While often identified in childhood, many people continue to experience symptoms into adulthood, or are first diagnosed later in life.

ADHD is not a lack of intelligence or willpower. It’s a difference in how the brain manages attention and activity levels. These differences can make daily life feel overwhelming at times, but with the right support and strategies, people with ADHD can thrive both personally and professionally.

Common Symptoms

ADHD symptoms can vary, but often include:

  • Difficulty sustaining attention or completing tasks

  • Disorganization and forgetfulness

  • Restlessness or feeling “on the go”

  • Impulsivity or difficulty waiting your turn

  • Trouble managing time or regulating emotions

Everyone experiences these challenges occasionally, but in ADHD, they occur more often and interfere with daily functioning, relationships, or work.
