About

Hi, I’m Emily, a physician assistant with a background in pain management, women’s health, and psychiatry. I earned my undergraduate degree from California State University, Stanislaus, and completed my graduate training at Touro University Nevada. I also hold a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry (CAQ-PSY), reflecting my advanced training in psychiatry and my commitment to ongoing education and high-quality mental health care.

I began my career in pain management, where I developed a strong understanding of how chronic pain can impact mood, sleep, relationships, and overall quality of life. This experience shaped my holistic approach to care and reinforced the importance of addressing both physical and emotional health.

I later transitioned into women’s health, supporting women through complex and meaningful life transitions such as fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, and menopause. During this time, I witnessed the profound connection between hormonal changes and mental health, and the emotional toll these experiences can take, especially when individuals feel unsupported or unheard.

In May 2022, I entered the field of psychiatry, drawn by a desire to care for patients more fully and compassionately. My diverse clinical background allows me to approach mental health care with empathy, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for how life experiences and physical health influence emotional well-being. At Neurowell, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where patients feel seen, understood, and empowered on their path toward healing.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and getting lost in a good book.
